Shopee, an e-commerce website much popular within Southeast Asia, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Poland, is known for its great usability.

Tay (2019), known to have redefined the UX core of the said company, made it both user-friendly and mobile-friendly website by: using color blocks for important tabs, simplifying the terms, e.g., Rewards to Free. Since Shopee is also in partnership with merchants/sellers, their integrity is stabilized with the strict standard of having quality, reality-basis photo and videos. Apart from this, user reviews on every purchases, despite posted anonymously, are open to public. Moreover, only confirmed individuals who have made such purchases are allowed to leave a review. Hence, manipulation of ratings is unlikely.

Special offers are available daily in ways of providing free shipping vouchers on scheduled hours (12 midnight, 2 o’clock in the afternoon). In Southeast Asia, they are also a hit for having sales every dates that correlate to the current month (e.g., 1st of January or 1.1, 2nd of February of 2.2, etc.). Unfortunately, not every user will have enough to make purchases at some point — which leads them to put such products on their wish list. Luckily for Shopee, they do not have any limit for such. Furthermore, they inform you whether your products on wish list are either available or out of stock. And during the search for products, finding products in store is not as difficult, because apart from the merchants, Shopee itself has what they call ‘Shopee Mall’, which expands their variety of products a customer can choose from.
